An exciting new role working overseeing our group finance function at Karro head office. Responsible for developing a highly efficient, flexible and responsive finance team on behalf of the group financial controller, to support Karro business growth and development. To provide high quality technical expertise and play a key role in delivering accurate, relevant and timely financial reporting and a strong financial control environment for Karro.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the UK group finance function (reporting and management accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable and masterdata) on a day to day basis on behalf of the group financial controller
  • Create a vision and direction for the team to provide first class customer service, challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement
  • Take responsibility for first round production of all board and bank reporting including commentary
  • Manage the production of all group internal and statutory financial reporting ensuring accuracy, adherence to deadlines, technical and business relevance
  • Lead the day to day management of the group year end and audit process to ensure smooth delivery and statutory sign off in line with bank reporting requirements
  • Work with internal audit on accounting policy changes and roll out to sites
  • Focus on controls, in particular act as custodian for the group balance sheet ensuring integrity and assist in ensuring risks and opportunities are managed
  • Proactively maintain an awareness of the needs of the operation and liaise with IT to ensure financial systems and processes provide first class service to the business
  • Manage the group's finance strategy with the sites, assisting in development of accounting and financial policy and undertaking centralisation where appropriate to allow sites to focus on commercial value add
  • Work with the tax accountant to ensure statutory responsibilities are met and compliance risk minimised
  • Be involved in the production of accurate and timely acquisition accounting (including any UK GAAP/IFRS conversion)
  • Lead and manage the smooth integration and centralisation of acquisitions into the group finance function
  • Manage the relationship with professional services providers as required
  • Deputise for the group financial controller where business needs require

Skills and experience:

  • ACA (+ post qualification experience either within practice or industry)
  • Some audit experience preferable with excellent technical accounting skills
  • Proven experience of being able to manage and develop a large team, focused on employee development and enabling others to reach their full potential, motivating and inspiring others to achieve
