IT Operations Analyst

Reporting to the Group IT infrastructure and service delivery manager you will support the Eight Fifty Food Group (Karro & Youngs) Infrastructure whilst taking third line IT support calls via the service and support team. You will take responsibility for developing systems and services in line with business and information communication (ICT) requirements, whilst also getting involved in and taking ownership of ICT projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and delivery of the ICT strategy by implementing key activities
  • Involvement in IT installations projects across the whole Eight Fifty Group (Karro & Youngs & any further company acquisitions)
  • Interact with internal and external clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner
  • Check all daily, weekly and monthly infrastructure tasks including, system health checks, email journaling, licensing and anti-virus checks
  • Develop your expertise in the ICT technologies and business environment to ensure that you are aware of the businesses demands and how IT can help
  • Analyse and assess third line IT support calls to ensure that the infrastructure team meet their operational level agreement with the IT Service desk
  • Respond to escalated issues (in/out of hours)
  • Provide ICT and infrastructure support to factory operations as and when required
  • Implementation of additions, deletions and major modification of the supporting infrastructure
  • Network resource monitoring, analysing and evaluating performance and working on resolution of identified degradation trends and problem areas through constant performance management
  • Administration of the company WAN/LAN as required
  • Manage the troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, disaster recovery, liaise with 3rd party support and provides expert support when necessary
  • Works within non-technical project teams to help implement systems as part of a wider project scope
  • Implement and develop upgrades to systems
  • Assist the service desk as and when required and assist with the training and development of others where appropriate
  • Follow all IT security procedures and policies

Skills and experience:

  • Prior experience of working within an IT operational capacity, ideally within a third line support role within a sizeable commercial organisation
  • Experience of Microsoft server, SQL database, local area networks (LAN), wide area network (WAN), VLAN, firewall, anti-virus & security products
  • A basic SAP, Linux and understanding would be advantageous
  • Understanding of Office 365
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Strong customer relations skills and experience
  • Exercises judgement and takes responsibility for the consequences of actions and decisions
  • Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks
  • Ability to accept and learn from constructive criticism
  • Good analytical and numeric skills
