Manufacturing Accountant

The purpose of this role is to support operations and senior management, providing accurate and timely information to support financial and production requirements to drive improvements across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Production of daily, weekly, monthly stock and yield information for the production of the site monthly management accounts
  • Production of daily and weekly labour KPIs evaluating departmental performance
  • Weekly reconciliation and forward forecasting of the site stock position
  • Gatekeeper and maintenance for all product castings
  • Production and submission of weekly profit reports and variance analysis on weekly and quarterly basis
  • Preparation of daily and weekly chill loss information
  • Assist in preparation site budgets for senior management and the board
  • Liaise with production and sales departments in relation to financial forecasts, budgets and performance
  • Analysis and interpretation of financial data to recommend changes for improving financial performance
  • Liaise with external bodies e.g. Invest Northern Ireland, Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment, Co. auditors and external auditors etc as required
  • Any other duties deemed necessary

Essential skills and experience:

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification preferably CIMA, or be in the final stages of achieving their qualification
  • A thorough understanding of management accounting principles and techniques
  • Experience of product costing
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Effective presentation and report writing skills
  • Strong IT skills; Excel, Word, SAP
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good organisational and administrative skills

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Management accounts experience in the meat industry or other FMCG business's
  • Proven experience of financial best practice
  • Strong experience with SAP system
