Management Accountant

The management accountant will support he finance manager and the senior management team for agriculture, providing timely and accurate financial information and KPI's in order to assist in driving operational improvements and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the finance manager and site director in the production of annual budgets, and provide rolling updates to the forecast
  • Work in close partnership with all areas if the business to ensure understanding of all variances to budget/forecast and advise in any corrective action
  • Work with the finance manager to produce monthly management accounts, statutory reports and financial statements, with supporting information as required, to be completed accurately and to strict deadlines
  • Assist the finance manager with the management of the external audit process for the site
  • Liaise with tax advisors as required
  • Prepare accurate financial information as directed by the finance manager at all levels in the Company, including for the weekly call
  • Assist the centre with cash flow forecasting, cash management and working capital reports
  • Assist the shared service centre with credit control and purchase ledger activities, including timely query resolution
  • Assist with the consolidation of company results to group level via the weekly submissions
  • Support the finance manager in analysing KPIs and their correlation to revenue
  • Maintain all relevant ledgers and balance sheet accounts to SAP
  • Produce ledger reconciliations on a monthly and annual basis for the finance managers approval and sign off
  • Prepare capex requests for sign off and approval, and to maintain site capex data for financial reporting and cash-flow reporting
  • Assist the administration team, in the maintaining of stocks, valuations and purchase orders
  • Develop and implement robust and efficient processes and controls and drive continual improvement
  • Undertake any additional tasks and responsibilities that may be required

Essential experience:

  • Recognised relevant qualification (or working towards) in accountancy
  • Strong MS office proficiency (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Solid experience in a similar and relevant position within finance
  • SAP experience would be desirable but training can be provided
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • A questioning mind i.e. "challenge the norm" approach
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks
