Pig Buying Support Administrator

The pig buying support administrator will support the pig buying team with administrative duties. They will ensure that supplier information is both accurate and up to date, providing accurate information to relevant internal departments and supporting the team where required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reconciling and inputting data to prepare payment and data sheets and communicate with suppliers
  • Traceability auditing
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries both internal and external including queries from suppliers and payment queries
  • Using and maintaining excel spread sheets and SAP systems and running accurate reports, whilst also ensuring all data meets site, customer and legal standards and is up to date, regularly checked and in date
  • Support and assist the pig buying team with the preparation and issuing of information and requirements to all appropriate stakeholders
  • Liase with farmers and farming transportation companies regarding deliveries, documentation and further information
  • Supply confirmation of movements for suppliers within 24 hours, and send confirmation to appropriate governing bodies
  • Assist the manager in liaising with pig suppliers to ensure adequate and timely supply of pigs to match production requirements
  • Provide kill information to relevant departments as required on a daily basis
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Pig Buying Manager, to the agreed level of accuracy and timelines

Skills and experience:

  • Previous administration experience
  • Good MS office experience (Excel and Outlook)
  • Self-motivation and drive, with the ability to take ownership of issues
  • Agricultural background would be advantageous
  • Previous experience of using SAP would be advantageous and/or bespoke databases
  • Strong attention to detail in order to maintain good, accurate records
  • Strong people skills, including a polite phone manner combined with an ability to listen and communicate effectively with others
  • An open attitude, flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
  • Multi-task and prioritise workload
