The holder of this role will deliver comprehensive support to the Site Finance Director and Senior Management Team in assisting them to further grow and develop the Malton site, making Karro the supplier of choice in the British Pork Industry.

Key to the success of this role will be the provision of accurate and timely management information upon which both the role holder and management team can act in order to maximise the growth opportunities that exist within the business. Involvement in the development and implementation of a strong and robust reporting system will be a key priority in order to deliver the objectives.

In proportion to job responsibilities:

Role Tasks/Responsibilities

Provision, analysis and interpretation of daily, weekly and monthly product yield and packing reports to enable operational performance to be monitored and enhanced

Daily and weekly reporting of departmental labour costs with the aim to improve throughput per hour and reduce cost per kilogram

Daily reporting of key site operational KPIs

Drive continuous improvement (profit / efficiency enhancing) initiatives across all operational departments - key finance business partner to Head of Site Operations and factory managers; identify trends, opportunities and areas of under-performance

Stand in for Head of Site Finance in weekly / monthly group and site management engagement sessions

Support accurate product costing process

Review of stock with a specific focus to drive down work in progress stock

To support in promoting ongoing process improvement and cultural change

Involvement in the monthly accounting cycle

Essential Criteria & Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

Qualified accountant/finalist with a minimum of 3 years strong industry experience

Experience of working in a manufacturing environment with evidence of variance reporting, ideally in the food industry.

Strong Excel analysis skills and the ability to demonstrate the application of logical analysis to manufacturing transactions.

The desire to be hands on, and to be seen on the production floor.

Understanding of the FMCG industry.

Experience of successfully managing tasks/projects to completion, ideally including systems implementation.

Computer Literate.

Numerate and analytical.

The ability to challenge the status quo.

Ideally experience of working with SAP.
