Treasury Accountant

This is a new growth role within our treasury team reporting to the cash planning manager in within group finance at head office. The treasury accountant will become a key member of the team providing financial accounting and management reporting support to the business and operational sites.

Key responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the management of group banking facilities within overall limits to minimise interest costs
  • Accurately process bank payments and transfers as requested with due consideration to fraud risk and controls
  • Full, timely and accurate reconciliation of bank accounts in SAP
  • Own the reconciliation of ABL facility, sending reconciliations and supporting information to the bank
  • Liaise with banks and external third parties in relation to Karro treasury as agreed with the group cash planning manager
  • Provide cover for the group cash planning manager where required
  • Calculate and report business cash performance weekly and monthly
  • Prepare the weekly rolling 26 week cash flow forecast utilising various sources of information within the group, challenging assumptions where necessary
  • Forecast foreign exchange requirements and implement board foreign exchange policies in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Ensure continuous improvement to risk management, processes and controls
  • Assist in acquisition and other treasury projects as necessary

Skills and experience:

  • Part qualified ACCA / CIMA
  • Experience of treasury and/or banking operations
  • Strong excel skills
  • Experience of SAP an advantage
  • Ability to work with large work and data volumes to strict deadlines
  • Objective, unbiased and maintains integrity at all times
  • Excellent communicator able to adapt style to a variety of situations
  • Proactive and demonstrates initiative
  • Provides appropriate solutions to business problems
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships quickly and effectively with colleagues
  • Appreciates the benefit of detail
